A bridge across the Don River on Inverdon Road, Queensland was washed away when Tropical Cyclone Debbie hit on 28 March 2017. Subsequently, works are required to replace the damaged infrastructure. A temporary causeway and culverts were installed across the River as emergent works to provide access. The temporary causeway and culverts are proposed to be removed following opening of the replacement bridge.
A new “like for like” three-span bridge is proposed to replace the old bridge within a similar footprint to the old damaged bridge. Remaining damaged infrastructure from the previous bridge and the temporary access causeway and associated culverts require removal following construction of the new bridge. Material from the temporary access is proposed to be removed from within the waterway and disposed more than 50m away from the river.
