The Fraser Coast Regional Council (Principal) lies within the Wide Bay–Burnett region of Queensland, approximately 250 kilometres north of Brisbane, the state capital. It is centred on the twin cities of Hervey Bay and Maryborough, and also contains Fraser Island. Fraser Coast Region’s geographical boundaries can be seen here.

Anzac Park has long been a favourite place for residents and visitors to frequent for recreation purposes.  The park contains a skate bowl, natural play area, and various types of play equipment, picnic facilities, public amenities and opportunities for active recreation pursuits. The park currently contains facilities for visitors with a disability including a liberty swing and accessible paths and lighting.

An area for the provision of an all abilities playground and small water play area has been identified in an adopted embellishment plan for Anzac Park. The  area  sits  amongst  mature vegetation,  is  gently sloping  and  is  in close proximity to existing picnic and play infrastructure.  The site also offers ease of connection to existing paths, internal carparks and public amenities.
