This project entails the demolishing, removing and replacing of the existing baffles walls at the Chlorine Detention Tank at the Blackwater Sewage Treatment Plant to ensure that the water treatment meets the current standards for disinfection.
Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) operates two chlorine detention tanks running in a duty standby configuration. The purpose of the current wooden baffle walls within the tank is to ensure that wastewater makes contact with Chlorine for a sufficient amount of time. Now however, due to deterioration from both the chlorine and harsh outback conditions, the baffles walls are no longer allowing for sufficient detention time.
To ensure that Blackwater STP maintains it efficiency and treatment standards throughout the foreseeable future, Central Highlands Regional Council intends to improve both detention tanks performance and longevity by replacing the existing wooden baffles with a suitable replacement product, in this case CHRC are looking for prices for 2 alternative options and will choose one based on price and methodology’s
• Option 1: HDPE panels with stainless steel supports
• Option 2: FRP panels and FRP supports.
The successful tenderer shall demolish, remove and replace the baffle walls in both detention tanks as per the scope of works
