The Whitsunday Region suffered considerable damage as a result of Tropical Cyclone Debbie and Councils assets were not excluded. Councils Major Administration Building suffered considerable damage to the extent that Council evacuated from the building and are currently housed in various offices in Cannonvale and Proserpine.
It is Councils intent to re-build this asset inclusive of a new Local Disaster Coordination Centre (LDCC) and Climate Change Innovation Hub. The facility will be located on the grounds of the previous Administration Building site on land owned by Council at 83-85 Main Street, Proserpine, Queensland. The previous Facility was demolished in preparation for the new build.
The proposed project is to be delivered under an AS2124 Construct Contract with the Council currently developing design documentation through appointed Architects Conrad Gargett.
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced contractors capable of delivering this Project in its entirety. Council intends to contract with a single entity to deliver the Project. Council is looking for innovative approaches from the private sector that will support the delivery of the project and offer value for money.
