Description 

Cassowary Coast Regional Council has resolved as part of capital works programme and future budgets to replace the Flying Fish Point rock revetments.

Stage 3 – George Street to Ruby Street is for the protection of the esplanade.

The overall works involve the construction of a new rock revetment over the existing rock revetment.  The main construction processes are:

  • Reworking of the existing revetment material to achieve a slope of 1V:2H or flatter
  • Installation of filter rock layer
  • Installation of armour rock
  • Installation of fish-friendly features at the toe
  • Vegetation of the crest
