Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) coordinates a feral animal control program with one of the key activities within the program the aerial culling of feral animals such as feral pigs.
Council has been fortunate to have gained funding to provide and expand its aerial culling of feral animals. Council is seeking the services of a Supplier with a Robinson R44 helicopter or similar to assist with the delivery of the Whitsunday Feral Animal Management Project, three (3) times each financial year, as per the following (dependent on funding):
- July/August – 16 sites (approximately 120 flight hours);
- November/December – 16 sites (approximately 120 flight hours); and
- March/April – 1 site (approximately 8-10 flight hours).
Council will require to cover approximately 33 sites (refer to Appendix A for site location areas) per financial year. Council has already procured approximately 200 hours in 2019-2020 (July/August & November/ December) and will require this contract to commence in January 2020.
Note: Timing listed above is an estimate and is reliant on funding, exact dates will be coordinated with the successful Supplier each Financial Year.
Council is seeking a Supplier with relevant licences, qualifications and relevant experience, including their personnel, in accordance with this Specification for the duration of this project, with a completion date of 30th June 2022 on a fixed hourly rate, including all costs associated with the works (ie helicopter, pilot, fuel, equipment etc).
