Display Tender IRC0008097
This page displays the details of a tender. See the detailed help in each section for specific information.
Isaac Regional Council (IRC) owns and operates wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) at Dysart and Middlemount. These wastewater treatment plants also incorporates the storage of treated effluent in Effluent Storage Dams (ESD).
Stored effluent is disposed of by natural evaporation and/or by distribution and irrigation. Dysart and Middlemount have small scale recycled water pumping stations and networks in place for the purpose of distribution and irrigation. The utilisation of these infrastructure is limited due to their capacities and quality of effluent.
The limited scale of IRC’s current water recycling and irrigation schemes results in the effluent storage dams often being in danger of overfilling resulting in infrastructure damage or effluent overflow to the environment.
Further recognising the need for recycled water irrigation network augmentation, IRC is currently undertaking extension of recycled water mains and irrigation infrastructure.
The installation of Recycled Water Treatment Facilities at Dysart and Middlemount, capable of producing Class A recycled water will maximise the utilisation of extended recycled water network and irrigation infrastructure for beneficial reuse.
