The current Daintree River Ferry Services contract commenced on 1 July 2006 and is due to expire on 30 June 2021.  To ensure a seamless transition from the current contract to a new contract, sufficient time has to be allowed for potential service providers to submit their tender and to ensure any vessel is ready to commence operations by 1 July 2021.

To facilitate this end result it is planned to be in a position to invite Expressions of Interest in February 2019 and Tender submissions by no later than 30 June 2019 and to award the contract by no later than 31 December 2019.

Council has issued this Expression of Interest with the objectives of:

1.         Undertaking Early Market Engagement with potential Suppliers;

2.         Understanding the scope potential and what the market may be able to offer; and

3.         Enabling the market to better understand:

1. potential compliance issues with project and environmental controls due to the location of the site.
2. working in Far North Queensland, particularly in regional northern projects located within Wet Tropics.

EOI Briefing and Site Visit:  Whilst not mandatory respondents are encouraged to attend:

28 February 2019 at 11:30AM - 64-66 Front Street, Mossman. -  after which a site vist to the Daintree River Ferry Site.
